Doing More with Less, Why Now Is The Time to Act

By: Nadia Isata

Colleagues and Partners in Education,

These past weeks have brought painful reminders of how fragile our systems are when funding and capacity are stretched thin. Across the country, recent budget constraints and staffing reductions are impacting many of the programs and teams that provide critical support for special education.

Let me be candid: I know many of you are already operating at the edge. You’re being asked to do more with less, fewer staff, fewer resources, flat or shrinking budgets, and still deliver on our mission to serve every student, especially those who need the most support.

But in this moment, we have an opportunity to rethink how we deliver, to lean on smarter systems, and to safeguard educational equity even in scarcity.

That is why I am reaching out directly, not just as the CEO of HiNAIA, but as a parent who has navigated the challenges within our education system. I have walked this path personally, navigating the same systems you and our educators are navigating today. I know firsthand what our students need, what our teachers are missing, and how critical it is to have tools that actually lighten the load rather than add to it.

The Stakes Are High

As these shifts take place, schools and districts are navigating new uncertainties around program continuity and student services, making local leadership, innovation and partnership more essential than ever. With evolving capacity and support structures, the responsibility to uphold IDEA commitments increasingly rests at the local level. Yet the mandates remain unchanged as IDEA still stands, and compliance still matters. For students and families, the expectation of equitable access and individualized support remains as vital as ever.

In this environment, schools must find new ways to sustain quality and compliance even when resources are limited. The programs that you once relied on for timely guidance and support are no longer available. The resources are shrinking, but the mission is not.

Why Now Is the Moment to Embrace HiNAIA

When budgets tighten, inefficiency becomes our greatest obstacle. Every dollar, every hour, and every educator must count more than ever. HiNAIA was created to help schools do exactly that: to do more with less through an adaptive learning platform that redefines how students with learning differences access, engage with, and thrive in general education classrooms. Grounded in cognitive science and developed in collaboration with educators, families, and clinicians, HiNAIA envisions special education as an inclusive, continuously adaptive ecosystem. One that empowers every learner while easing the demands placed on those who teach and support them.

1. Adaptive AI Co-Teacher for Students with Learning Differences & ADHD

At the core of HiNAIA is our adaptive AI Co-Teacher, designed specifically to support students with dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, and ADHD. It personalizes instruction, adapting pace, modality and scaffolding as students engage with content. Grounded in evidence-based supports, HiNAIA is being developed to meet every learner exactly where they are and to help educators deliver truly individualized learning at scale.

By doing so, teachers gain an intelligent partner that reinforces instruction, monitors progress, and dynamically adjusts supports, making personalized learning sustainable.

2. Empowering Educators

HiNAIA’s Teach module transforms how educators deliver and manage individualized instruction. It draws on student insights, learning data and classroom performance to offer timely instructional guidance, progress visibility and alignment with IEP and 504 goals, all within a single, accessible interface.

Educators will be able to engage with built-in intelligence that provides context specific support and resources in real time, helping them differentiate instruction, monitor progress, and maintain compliance with greater ease and confidence.

By streamlining documentation and fostering continuous feedback between general and special education teams, HiNAIA aims to reduce administrative load, strengthen compliance fidelity, and return valuable time to what matters most, teaching and connecting with students.

3. IEP Compliance, Elevated Through Evidence-Based Tools

HiNAIA embeds compliance at the foundation of its design. Every instructional pathway, accommodation, and progress update is grounded in evidence-based practices, ensuring that IEP and 504 implementation is transparent, traceable, and defensible. Our system helps educators maintain fidelity to IDEA requirements without sacrificing instructional time, giving districts confidence that every learner’s plan is not just documented, but delivered.

4. Rapid ROI and Measurable Impact

Our implementation is fast, affordable, and efficient. Districts see measurable gains in student outcomes, compliance fidelity, and staff efficiency, even under resource constraints.

5. Partnership Over Procurement

We're not just offering a platform, we’re building lasting partnerships grounded in shared purpose and impact. Our team walks alongside yours, configuring, training, and evolving the platform to fit your classrooms and your students. Because we know this isn’t about technology alone...it’s about trust, collaboration, and results.

A Call to Urgency & Hope

I understand the strain you’re under, the staffing shortages, the budget freezes, the moral weight of wanting to do more when the system offers less. I’ve lived that reality as a parent, and I see it every day as a CEO building a solution for the educators on the frontlines.

But I also believe this: we can turn constraint into catalyst. The longer we wait, the more we risk falling further behind. The cost of inaction, lost time, burnout, and diminished outcomes, will always be greater than the cost of innovation.

HiNAIA was built to be that innovation, an ally in your mission to serve every learner.

Let’s have a conversation before more programs are lost, before another year passes without relief. My team and I are ready to show how HiNAIA can ease the load now, not later. Thank you for your resilience, leadership, and unwavering commitment to your students. You are not alone; we’re in this with you!

In partnership and with purpose,

Nadia Isata Leurdijk
